The seasons are changing now. The leaves are all too swiftly falling from the trees and somehow the constant wind is resounding with a lowly moan, reminding me of the cold winter that will be arriving shortly.  I am alone as I write this evening. I’m alone in the sense that the rest of my family is tucked away safely in their beds.

595038_10675875.jpg There have been many times in my life as I endure a trial, I have been all alone, all the while surrounded by people of all things!  But asking others for advice was not the answer.  I’ve wondered about this many, many times.  Does anybody understand?

I take comfort in acknowledging that the one who knows me inside and out understands me perfectly.

I believe the Lord permits us to go through various trials and tests in order for us to learn how to depend on him. It’s a part of our nature to want a “quick fix” or an “easy answer”, but don’t be discouraged if the trial lingers on a bit.

Sometimes I can’t understand why I didn’t inquire of the Lord sooner. I take comfort in acknowledging that the one who knows me inside and out understands me perfectly. He is so patient. As a matter of fact, being all alone for a period of time can be a good thing. Why do we think that just because He doesn’t answer our prayers that way that we want that He doesn’t love us anymore? Spending some alone time gives us a chance to reflect upon the Lord, upon our lives and current situations.  It gives us time to do those things we’ve been putting off for so long.  We homeschool and contrary to popular belief, we are always *very* busy!  Opportunities and invitations from church and homeschool friends in addition to community involvement can take up a good bit of time.

If you find yourself alone at this time, please remember that there is a God, the God of the Bible who loves us dearly.  He sent His son Jesus Christ to die on the cross in order to reconcile us to Himself.  Like I said before, sometimes being alone can be a good thing, but it’s important to also remember that we need each other too. We need balance.

I love when the Lord uses another person in my life to reach out to me in an answer to prayer when they knew nothing of the burden I had been carrying.  This increases my faith by leaps and bounds! So please remember we are NEVER truly alone. Where can we go to escape His awesome presence?

“If I ascend up into heaven, You are there: if I make  my bed in hell [Heb: sheol], behold, You are there” (Psalm 139:8)

Our Lord is everywhere.  This is so comforting.  His eyes see everything. Nothing is new to the Lord.

We are never alone. Although at times it may seem that way but the truth it that our Creator holds us and everything we see right in the palm of His loving hands.
